Satin Growth Alternatives announces a first close on its Category II AIF, registered with SEBI on 13 April 2026
Has Satin Growth Alternatives closed its Category II AIF?
Satin Growth Alternatives Limited said on 28 August 2026 that it had reached a first close on a women-led Category II Alternative Investment Fund. SEBI's register lists Satin Growth Alternatives Trust as an active Category II AIF, registration number IN/AIF2/26-27/2138, valid from 13 April 2026. The announcement is a company press release, not a SEBI filing, and no amount is publicly filed.
What was announced
Satin Growth Alternatives Limited, a subsidiary of the listed microfinance lender Satin Creditcare Network Limited, said on 28 August 2026 that it had reached a first close on a women-led Category II AIF.
The statement is a press release. It was issued by VMPL, carried by ANI and published on Business Standard's press-release page, which states that no Business Standard journalist was involved in creating it. It is the company's own account of its own fund, and it is the only source for the close.
The release describes the strategy as providing structured, quasi-debt and equity-linked capital to growth-stage businesses, with an emphasis on women-led ventures. It names Blueboard, Paisalo, Nupur Recyclers Limited, Tomorrow's India and Satin Creditcare Network Limited among the investors committing to the fund, alongside individual investors it does not name. Aditi Singh is quoted as a Director at Satin Growth Alternatives and Chief Strategy Officer at Satin Creditcare Network; Shivika Sethi as Fund Manager and Partner; and Dr HP Singh as Chairman cum Managing Director of Satin Creditcare Network. The release also carries forward-looking statements about what the strategy is intended to achieve, which this page does not reproduce as fact.
What SEBI's register shows
SEBI's register of Alternative Investment Funds carries an entry for Satin
Growth Alternatives Trust, registration number
IN/AIF2/26-27/2138. The AIF2 element marks it a Category II fund. The entry
records the registration as valid from 13 April 2026, with no end date, which is
perpetual validity; status active; address in
Gurugram, Haryana; contact person Shivika Sethi, the same name the release gives
as the fund's manager.
The register lists funds. It does not list their schemes, and the release does not name the scheme it closed.
The one date that checks out
The release makes a single claim that can be tested against a public record: that the close came "within four and a half months of receiving its SEBI registration". SEBI's register gives 13 April 2026. The release is dated 28 August 2026. That interval is four months and fifteen days.
What is not public
No amount appears in the release, and none appears in the register. SEBI's register records that a fund is registered and in which category. It does not record what a fund has raised, what it has drawn down, what it charges or what it has done with the money. Those figures live in a private placement memorandum, which is not a public document — which is also why no AIF's results can be compared with another's from public sources. See why AIF performance is not public and capital commitment.
A first close is a milestone the manager defines and chooses to announce. It is not a regulatory event, it triggers no SEBI filing that reaches the public register, and nothing about it is independently verifiable here beyond the registration itself.
